henin and lindsay davenport, three days later i had the surgery and then three weeks later i was playing lindsay davenport at an event in minneapolis and so i had something to look forward to always. and then when i had the radiation, i went -- i went and played at the french open. worked for tennis channel. played at the french open and wimbledon. and tennis sort of whgot me through all those tough times. i'm fortunate i had that in my life. of course, positive attitude always helps get you through stuff. so i had both. so it was difficult time no doubt about it. and it was really difficult when someone public actually -- the first most exhausting and difficult thing was when i found out i was positive. second most difficult was the day i went public and added all these injuries and had to talk about it. i'm still talking about it. so that's -- that took the most out of me, actually. >> and difficult because you felt -- >> i'm glad that i did that. >> difficult because you felt you head to constantly answer questions or difficult to because this would ordinarily be a private battle and
against, we'll go buck wild! >> lindsay lohan. >> but how do you set boundaries without alienating your kids? >> i don't know if you can. >> well, i think the boundaries are what's important. you're going to be a parent and not put your personal problems and anxieties on the kids, but you're also going to be open and allow your kids to disagree with you sometimes. it doesn't mean that there are no rules, but that they have an open voice so they can explore who they are as an individual. part of becoming an individual is saying, hey, here's what my family origin taught me. i'm going to keep some of these values but take these new ones from my peer group. >> absolutely. become an individual. >> and your mom, as i understand, in adult life, had trouble with you accepting -- or she had trouble accepting some of the things you adopted. >> well, i mean, we couldn't have been more different if you cast us blindfolded with ear plugs in. look at us. this is my mom's biggest fantasy, me in a ka tillon that she really wanted me to do and i did that for her. i was a tomboy wearing dock martins and
daughter lindsay has one little girl. >> they were all at your house? >> most of them. and frank was at the grill doing what he does best. >> you have to hand it to him. >> went to see "the american," the new george clooney movie over the weekend. we went in on sunday afternoon. i thought, oh, my gosh, there was nobody -- i was surprised to see it won the box office for the weekend. unusual film. i read a lot of reviews, and one review was four stars and the next was one star. it's a little -- it's -- i can see why each person thought that about the film, and it's george clooney at his most -- what's the word? coiled. >> coiled? >> very intense, very insulated. he's a terrific actor. >> he looked good in the ads, in the clips. he did look good when he was doing the pull-ups. >> he looked good. >> i didn't go to the movie but i watched the jersey house we'ves reunion last night because i fell asleep. don't watch them before you go to bed, because you have bad dreams. >> i don't ever watch it anyway. >> it was a two-parter. the thing that came out is that danielle staub will not be
